There are so many things to do in Guernsey, here is a sample of some of the tours that are offered.  Once you have chosen your tour or you would like further information, scroll down to the bottom of this page and fill in the "Contact Us" form or alternatively click here to see which tours can currently be booked online.
Please note we are extremely busy providing tours on cruise ship port days, therefore on these particular days, your tour may be led by an Accredited Guide chosen by Amanda, rather than Amanda herself, depending upon demand.

WWll fortification tours in partnership with Festung Guernsey

Batterie Mirus (1.75 hours)
Embark on a captivating journey as we invite you to join us for a guided tour of one of the historic gun emplacements which makes up part of the remarkable Batterie Mirus fortification.  This exclusive opportunity grants you access to a hidden gem of military history, revealing a labyrinthine of once-secret corridors and rooms of the largest gun emplacements built in the Channel Islands during WW2.  Hear about how the extraordinary guns were transported to the island and eventually to the site and view exclusive photographs from a private collection.  This is an experience not to be missed.


Batterie Scharnhorst (1.25 hours)
Join us for a guided tour around Batterie Scharnhorst which is situated on private land.  View two gun emplacements together with ammunition stores and personnel shelters.  Hear how this Batterie was used during the Occupation and what eventually happened to the guns housed there.  View exclusive photographs from a private collection.




Fort Hommet (1.75 hours)
Embark on a captivating journey through history from neolithic times to today with our tour of the Fort Hommet headland. Unveil the strategic positioning from the era of the imposing Napoleonic Fort commanding panoramic views across the west coast and inland. Hear how this area was transformed during WW2 and view rare photographs from a private collection. Exclusive access will be provided to two private bunkers (restored personnel shelter and M19 bunker), each bearing witness to the island’s wartime saga.

Occupation Explorer (4 hours) 

You will be picked up from your hotel (private tours only) or the Liberation Monument (public tours), by your accredited guide and separate driver, from where we will start our fantastic tour visiting some of the most interesting sites depicting this important part of Guernsey's history.  During the drive, hear about how the German Occupation affected the guide's own family, and the unique role that some of them played.  Visit The German Underground Hospital, The German Occupation Museum and Pleinmont Gun Batterie, where you will be provided with a fully guided private tour inside each of the various locations.

On leaving the Batterie we will drive through the beautiful countryside and along our west coast to view some of the best beaches on the island.  We will then continue back to St Peter Port where we finish the tour at your tender pier or hotel.

Underground hospital
The German Underground Hospital (approx 1 hour) - join us for a guided tour inside the largest structural reminder of the German Occupation existing in the Channel Islands.  Your guide will provide you with information on the construction and use of this facility during WW2.  As you walk through the many tunnels, you will be shown various interesting areas which without a guide you may unwittingly walk past.  

This site also houses some interesting exhibitions, and has aerial footage photographs from WW2 of various areas around the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Although all on the flat, there is a great deal of walking in this tour, and whilst there is one wheelchair onsite for use by guests, this should be booked in advance for those with mobility issues.

Highlights of Guernsey (4 hours) with German Underground Hospital  (most popular tour in 2023)
Available as a public tour on certain cruise ship dates, or everyday as a private tour.

You will be picked up from your hotel (private tours only) or the tender pier, by your accredited guide and separate driver, from where we will start our amazing adventure.  Drive past Victor Hugo's House, to see where this famous writer once lived, and onwards to a photo stop (for small vehicles of 7 guests or less) overlooking Castle Cornet, nearby islands and any visiting cruise ships.  Travel through the parish of St Martin before arriving at the unique and beautiful Little Chapel where you will have time to visit inside.  A short drive will then take us to The German Underground Hospital, the largest construction in the whole of the Channel Islands by the Germans during WWll, you will be provided with a private tour inside this amazing attraction.  On leaving, a short drive will take us to the German Occupation Museum, explore with us a private museum which we consider to be the best in Guernsey.  On leaving the museum, drive through the beautiful countryside and along our west coast to view some of the best beaches on the island.  We will then continue back to St Peter Port where we finish the tour at your tender pier or hotel.

This tour can be extended to 5 hours to include both the German Underground Hospital as well as Pleinmont Gun Batterie.  A walking tour of St Peter Port and/or Castle Cornet can be added to the end of this vehicle tour.

Town Walk and Castle Cornet Tour (3 hours) 
Join us for unforgettable guided tour of some of the captivating sights in St Peter Port and Castle Cornet.  Our experienced guides will lead you through the heart of the charming town, where history and natural beauty intertwine.  We begin our journey strolling through the cobbled streets of St Peter Port, you will be enchanted by the architecture, quaint shops and vibrant waterfront.  Our knowledgeable guides will share with you the rich and interesting history of both the town and the island.  Onwards to Castle Cornet, perched atop a rocky islet at the southern end of the harbour.  At over 800 years old, this Castle boasts panoramic views of not just Guernsey, but other islands including Herm and Sark, and the sparkling waters that surround them.  Up until the late 1800’s the Castle was separated from the town of St Peter Port.  Watch the firing of the noonday cannon and then come with us for a private guided tour where we explore the well-preserved ramparts, and view the beautifully manicured gardens. Throughout the tour, we will pause at scenic viewpoints, allowing you to capture breathtaking photographs and soak in the mesmerizing coastal landscapes.  At the end of the tour feel free to explore the Castle and various museums at your leisure. 

For Route A we will meet at the end of the Albert/tender pier.
For Route B we will meet near the main door of the Town Church, St Peter Port.

Town Walk (2 hours) - a guided walk through the streets of St Peter Port.  Take in the beautiful scenery from many different view points, hear about the rich and interesting history of both the town and the island. 
 
Start: Near the main door of the Town Church, St Peter Port.
Available: As a private tour.  Public tour dates in 2024 to be released

Gache Making Masterclass with Cliff Walk (approx 2.5 hours)


Join us with the Head Chef of the Saints Bay Hotel for a unique cookery masterclass in the making of traditional Guernsey Gache.  You will be “hands on” making the gache, and whilst it is cooking, we will take a 45-minute walk along the beautiful scenic south coast cliffs.  After the walk, return to the hotel for refreshments.  Your personal cooked gache will be wrapped for you to take home to share with family and friends.


The cliff walk section of this tour is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Walk (2 hours)  - inspired by author Mary Ann Shaffer's trip to Guernsey in the 1970's.  The book is a fictional tale depicting life in Guernsey both during and after the occupation of WWII.  Have you seen the movie based on the book, staring Lily James which was released in the UK April 2018 and on Netflix in the US August 2018?  Join us for a walk within the parish of St Martin from where the writer took her inspiration, taking in fantastic views along the route.

Start: at Jerbourg bus stop opposite Jerbourg Hotel.

L'Eree Coastal Walk (approx. 2 hours) - come with us for a ramble around the headland where you will hear about the history of the area including the German Occupation, Neolithic burial chambers, folklore, shipwrecks and much more.  

Start: at the bus stop opposite the "old" L'Eree Bay Hotel.
Availability: 2024 public tour dates to be announced, currently private tour bookings only

Private Access Tours to WWII fortification sites - if you are looking for a truly one of a kind experience, we have unique access to some WWII fortification sites situated on private land not usually accessible to the general public.  There are up to three sites available, and we can arrange for either a tour of all these sites, or you can add one site to either a Highlights of Guernsey tour, or a bespoke tour of the island.  Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Bespoke Tours - Custom tailor your tour in order that you see what you want, when you want, how you want and at a price you want to pay.  Click on our "Things to do in Guernsey" page for inspiration.  Tours can be arranged for both groups and individuals.  Walking tours and tours with transportation by private car, MPV, mini bus and coaches are all available.  A disabled access vehicle is also available which would seat three guests plus a wheelchair guest.  Tours can include lunch at a restaurant which provides local delicacies, or perhaps afternoon tea with scones or gache (local fruit bread).

Available to book as a private tour.  

If you are arriving by cruise ship, HURRY TOURS SELL OUT IN ADVANCE OF THE TOUR DATE.

Tours are subject to minimum numbers, booking in advance is required.  Tours will either be led by Amanda personally, or another Accredited Guide chosen by Tours of Guernsey.
